SF International Asian American Film Festival Starts Tomorrow
From Mar. 8 through 18, the Center for Asian American Media (CAAM) presents the 30th San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival (SFIAAFF). The SFIAAFF is the largest showcase for new Asian American and Asian films in North America. Each year it presents approximately 120 works in San Francisco, Berkeley and San Jose. The SFIAAFF also features the best in Asian American music and digital and interactive media. Since 1982, the SFIAAFF has been an important launching point for Asian American independent filmmakers as well as a vital source for new Asian cinema.
The SFIAAFF kicks off tomorrow night with a showing of White Frog, starring B.D. Wong and Harry Shum (Glee) and the opening gala at the Asian Art Musuem in San Francisco. The festival continues over the next 10 days with films from the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, Tanzania, South Korea, India, Cambodia, China, France, the Philippines, Taiwan, and Japan being shown at the following venues around the Bay Area:
