The Holidays Have Officially Arrived
You know that the holiday season has officially begun when Starbucks switches to its red and white holiday cups and when the department stores start playing their holiday music. And San Francisco is getting ready for the holidays too with decorations and lighted trees around the city.
If you love all the twinkle lights, ice skating rinks and Christmas trees, here’s a list of all the holiday lighting festivities coming this month:
Nov. 17: Snowflakes on Market
The annual lighting of the oversized snowflakes atop Market Street’s vapor lamps gives this city a real winter feeling without the chill. And there’s free entertainment to keep you moving and warm.
Nov. 19: Embarcadero Center Lighting Ceremony
Swirl and twirl on the city’s largest outdoor ice rink, which kicks off after 17,000 lights are set ablaze on the Embarcadero Center towers.
Nov. 20: Pier 39 Tree Lighting Ceremony
Join family, friends and pals from the Disneyland® Resort for the annual 60-foot-tree lighting celebration, complete with bows, ornaments and more than a few of your favorite Disney characters.
Nov. 25:
- Ghirardelli Square Tree Lighting Ceremony
All we want for the holidays is chocolate. Good thing Ghirardelli Square agrees. Join in welcoming Santa to the sparkly square all while getting your sugar fix. - Union Square Tree Lighting
Do a little holiday shopping downtown and then head outside into Union Square to ice skate and watch as Macy’s huge tree lights up downtown.
Mark your calendars so you won’t miss any of the holiday festivities!
